Guisborough Town Ladies were back in action in the North Riding Womens League yesterday after 5 months away, beating Brompton Ladies comfortably.

Striker Ellie Todd started the goals for the home team within 10 minutes of the kick-off, assisted by Rebecca Andrew.

At the half hour mark, fellow striker Ruth Wilson, returning to the team after a long injury spell, doubled the lead with an assist by Holly Smith.
Charlotte Sellstrom got the third and Ruth’s brace finished the scoring for the first half.

Half time score, 4-0

Guisborough took a while to get going in the second half and Brompton took advantage by netting their only goal of the afternoon. Three quick goals by the home team at 75 minutes put the game to bed. Olivia Bullock got the first of the three, then assisted the second which was scored by Rebecca Andrew.
At 79 minutes, winger Emma Walton scored the last of the goals, assisted by Rachel Dimmick.

Player of the Match was awarded to Emma Walton who perfomed well in a couple of positions and impressed manager Paul Hoskin.

Next week the ladies take part in the North Ridings Women’s FA Cup playing local rivals Redcar Athletic Ladies away.

Unfortunately spectators are still not permitted to attend grassroots football but we will update you once this changes.
