The King George V Football Pitch Fence Project

Guisborough Town FC has continued to thrive in recent years, through challenging times in Covid, to now boasting 33 teams across the male and female pathway of our game. Over 100 volunteers give countless hours for the sport they love, so that 500 players across our community can have access to football, as well as the incredible health and social benefits it brings.

Our significant growth has its challenges and over the coming months, our expansion will require further facilities that are safe for both training and matches. The two pitches adjacent to our main ground at Howlbeck Road, Guisborough have planning permission in place for fencing to be installed, enclosing, and protecting this area, so that it can be properly enhanced and sustained to a ‘Good’ level.

The most recent cost of this fencing is up to £35,000 and we are not currently able to access Football Foundation funding to support.

Proposed fenced playing area adjacent to the KGV Stadium

We passionately believe that the fence would allow more football to take place in our town and truly develop GTFC as a sustainable, central hub for our teams and the wider community, being able to access drinks, food and a warm space during our training sessions and match periods.

We would be incredibly grateful to anyone who can support our efforts, with time limited before our planning permission deadline passed in Autumn 2024. The club are offering advertising on the fence, facing the pitches, to help us achieve our goal, and allow us to continue our growth, supporting our community.

For the board and 2 Season Tickets, the cost would be £400/year or £1,000 for 3 years. We would also be grateful for any donations as all would help give our Players, Club and Community, grass pitches to be proud of.
