Match Report

Ladies Progress in County Cup

Guisborough Town Ladies travelled to T.I.B.S Women in the First Round of the CLS Sports North Riding Women’s Cup.

Guisborough started confidently playing some good football against a well organised T.I.B.S defenceand managed to create a few half chances that the home goalkeeper was equal to.

The deadlock was finally broken when Becky Thomas (sponsored by Furbd) got up from right back to deliver a great cross for Anna Trainor (sponsored by Rosemount Construction) who directed a pin point header into the net.

Before the half time whistle, Anna was played in by Rebecca Andrew (sponsored by Glow & Grow) to go one on one with the keeper who raced off her line to make a good save.

Half Time: T.I.B.S Women 0-1 Guisborough Town Ladies

The second half saw T.I.B.S Women come out battling and looking dangerous with both sides creating a couple of chances.

Nothing changed until Lyla Paisley got the ball on the outside of the box and let fly with a right footed shot that flew beyond the keeper and into the net.

Guisborough created two more great chances with Scarlett Hames (sponsored by Croft Rigging & Lifting) firing just over the bar from a corner, as well as goal scorer Paisley almost adding her second with a great volley from inside the 18-yard box which brought out the best from the T.I.B.S goalkeeper who somehow got down low to her right to make a great save.
