Ladies fall to defeat against unbeaten league leaders Evolution Ladies

Guisborough Town Ladies travelled to newly formed, and currently unbeaten, Evolution Ladies on Sunday.

Guisborough started strong, having most of the ball and causing the Evolution back line a lot of problems, and it wasn’t long before Guisborough were 1-0 up with an Ebony McDermottroe (sponsored by Cleveland Plastering Services) penalty tucked away easily after she was fouled in the box.

Guisborough kept up the fast flowing football in the first half, getting in behind the home teams defence again and again. They couldn’t convert their chances though, missing three great one on ones and several half chances meaning they went in at half time only 1-0 up.

Evolution came out in the second half determined to show why they are unbeaten this season and started causing Guisborough lots of problems, and with their backs already against the wall, the referee then gave Guisborough two questionable red cards. One was for Paige Davis, the other was awarded to Manager Stuart Underwood.

Evolution then started creating some very good chances until they finally grabbed an equaliser.

Determind to find a way to still come out on top despite their numerical disadvantage, Guisborough hit back and were looking to play on the break, and had yet another one on one but the Evolution keeper made a great save.

Ultimately, Guisborough never got back to how they played in the first half and inevitably Evolution got another two goals to seal the win.
