Guisborough Town Ladies 9-1 Northallerton Town Women

Match Report

Guisborough finally kicked off 2025 at home against Northallerton Town Women.

Northallerton started the game quickly, forcing a corner straight away. But it wasn’t long until Guisborough took control and Mac (sponsored by Cleveland Plastering Services) opened the scoring, winning the ball high up the pitch and slotting it home. Mac continued to create a number of chances and soon got her second after beating the defender down the right hand side before finding the back of the net.

From a corner, Mac received the ball and played it to Charly Thomas (sponsored by The Hope Foundation) who cut back onto her left foot to put the ball into the bottom corner for her first goal since returning to Guisborough. Not long after, a great team move down the left ended with Mac beating a player on the edge of the box and firing a shot into the top left corner. Just before half time, Guisborough worked the ball into the box again and Anna Trainor pounced on a miss kick to poke the ball over the line.

Guisborough started the second half as they left the first despite the tough weather conditions. Amelia Lucas (sponsored by C & J Lucas Decorators) made a great run down the left before cutting inside and sending a cross into the box which was turned in by a Northallerton defender. Charly netted her second of the game from a corner that came back out to the edge of the box for her to calmly put away. Northallerton then got one back after catching the Guisborough defence out.

Guisborough bounced back straight away when Scarlett Hames (sponsored by Shorty’s Gin) battled her defender off and found the back of the net. Just before the full time whistle, Mac played a lovely through ball for Rebecca Andrew (sponsored by Mark Talbot Plastering and Tiling) to run through and score past the keeper.
