Ladies win on the road!
The ladies travelled to Linthorpe Academicals for the first time this season, and started the game well, having a lot of the posession and creating chances.
The best of the early chances came when Scarlett Hames (sponsored by Croft Rigging & Lifting Ltd) saw her strike cannon off the crossbar following a through ball from Ebony McDermottroe (sponsored by Cleveland Plastering Services).
Guisborough broke the deadlock with a ball forward from Chelsea Bell (sponsored by Harbie’s Gas Plumbing and Heating Services) to Gracie McLoughlin (sponsored by Whitby Coastal Cruises) who neatly turned and squeezed the ball into the net.
Linthorpe grew into the game more after going a goal down and at times looked the better team in the first half but Guisborough’s back line stood firm.
Paige Davis (sponsored by Laura’s Sparkle and Shine) importantly doubled Guisborough’s lead on the stroke of half time, finishing from a McDermottroe cross.

Guisborough came out in the second half better than the first, and once again created a number chances but without being clinical.
Hames came close again when Rebecca Andrew (sponsored by Glow and Grow) played her through on goal but she dragged it just wide.
It was Linthorpe who got the next goal after capitalising on a Guisborough mistake and finishing neatly into the bottom corner.
This set the game up for a nervy ending but Guisborough saw it out effectively to get the win and keep the pressure on the top of the table.
