Match Report

Guisborough welcomed Northallerton Town FC Women once again in hope of repeating their last performance against them.

The game started pretty evenly and it wasn’t until a great freekick over the keeper from captain Chelsea Bell (sponsored by Mark Talbot Plastering and Tiling) that helped settle Guisborough into the game. After that, Guisborough were creating plenty of chances before the returning Paige Davis came on and made an immediate impact with a shot into the bottom left of the goal, assisted by Rachel Dimmick.

After a golden chance just before half time, Mac (sponsored by Cleveland Plastering Services) did get herself on the scoresheet early into the second half, linking up brilliantly with Adela Lewis (sponsored by Kryptic Management) before finishing past the keeper. Northallerton were posing a real threat up front at times, expertly managed by the back line all game.

However, on the couple of occasions they broke through, stand in keeper Maddie McCormick (sponsored by C&S DJ and Karaoke events) made some excellent saves to keep the clean sheet intact. Guisborough’s forward play continued to cause problems for Northallerton and a pass from Mac set up a well deserved goal by Scarlett Hames (sponsored by Shorty’s Gins) who made it 4-0 in her last game before knee surgery. Roles then reversed with Scarlett playing Mac through one on one who topped off a great team performance and made it 5.
