Match Report

Ladies fall to first league defeat

Guisborough Town welcomed Boro Rangers on Sunday and started quickly, creating 5 or 6 good scoring chances within the first 20 minutes but were unable to beat the Boro Rangers keeper.

Then, Boro Rangers on a break away earned a clear penalty which they converted to make it 1-0.

Guisborough created some more half chances before the interval. The best being a shot from Paige Davis (sponsored by Laura’s Sparkle and Shine) which beat the keeper but smashed against the bar.

Half Time: Guisborough Town Ladies 0-1 Boro Rangers Women

It was more of the same after half time, with Guisborough pushing for an equaliser and creating lots of half chances but they couldn’t get the ball in the net. The closest they came was Gracie McLoughlin (sponsored by Whitby Coastal Cruises) hitting the post. It was just not meant to be as Boro Rangers held out for the win.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH: REBECCA ANDREW

Even though the result didn’t go our way, the team created plenty of chances. Becca was everywhere in midfield with endless running, brilliant switching balls, and some great corners that kept the pressure on the opposition. Becca is sponsored by Glow & Grow.
