Bad Day at the Office for the Ladies

Guisborough travelled to York yesterday knowing only a win would stop Evolution Ladies winning the title.

Fresh from their midweek cup win, Evolution started the first half on the front foot. The play was mostly in Guisborough’s half but the hosts were only managing to create a few shooting chances from long range.

But, it wasn’t long until the early pressure turned into a goal for Evolution with a corner into the six yard box that was well headed in.

Guisborough were struggling to find a rhythm and Evolution continued to put the pressure on which paid off just before half time when them adding a second goal.

The second half started a bit more evenly as Guisborough put on an extra attacker to try and get a goal back. Unfortunately, nothing was working for Guisborough and Evolution were on top form being very clinical in front of goal and going onto score another 3 goals. Guisborough were well off the pace today but take nothing away from Evolution who turned up and deserved the win to take the North Riding Women’s Premier title. Guisborough will go again Thursday with their last game of the season against Redcar Athletic, looking to secure 2nd place.
