Match Report
Guisborough travelled to York RI Reserves knowing that 3 points would see them crowned league champions. This started well when Mac (sponsored by Cleveland Plastering Services) played Anna Trainor through who slotted it past the keeper to settle any nerves. It was then a pin point through ball from Rachel Dimmick to Mac who made no mistake in making it 2-0. Although Guisborough’s defence limited York to minimal attacking opportunities, Guisborough knew they could do better in the second half to make the win a more comfortable one.
Half time York RI Reserves 0-2 Guisborough
Paige Davis (sponsored by LK Sports) made it 3-0 with a great strike from distance, laid off nicely by Ellie Evans (sponsored by Manius IT Systems). 4-0 came with some great persistance from Mac who orginally had her shot saved but quickly closed down the defender to block her attempted clearance into the goal. Guisborough got another one when Becca Andrew (sponsored by Mark Talbot Tiling and Plastering) crossed the ball into the box only for a York player to put it in their own net. Becca then got herself on the score sheet after a nice one two with Mac to break through the York defence and put it past the keeper. Mac then drove down the wing to the byline before putting a great cross in for Ellie to volley in making it 7-0. Just before the final whistle, it was some great hold up play from Ellie to lay Amelia Lucas (sponsored by C & J Lucas Decorators) off who scored with a great strike from distance over the keeper.
