Match Report

Ladies win on the road to complete a weekend double over Boro Rangers

Guisborough travelled the short distance to Boro Rangers at weekend, making the same trip as the First Team the day before, and hoping for a similar result.

The game started with both teams having chances in what was an end to end first half. Boro Rangers were having the better of the opening chances but the scoreline remained 0-0, credit to Maddie McCormick who made some great one on one saves.

It was Guisborough who struck first though as Emma Walton (sponsored by Andrew & Amy Bell) brough down just outside the box. Rachel Dimmick (sponsored by Fugly Bakes) stepped up and scored the rebound to her own free kick in style.

Boro Rangers pulled one back after winning the ball high up and finishing well.

Half Time: Boro Rangers Women 1-1 Guisborough Town Ladies

In the second half, Guisborough started to get on top of the game and have more control and took advantage of this with a Paige Davis (sponsored by Laura’s Sparkle and Shine) corner that Gracie McLoughlin put in the back of the net. Ebony McDermottroe (sponsored by Cleveland Plastering Services) also came close after hitting the crossbar following a great solo run.

Boro Rangers had chances to equalise late on in the game, but Guisborough stood firm to see out a hard fought win.
