Ladies Rack Up Another Three Points

Guisborough welcomed Linthorpe Academicals Women to the Kevin Edward KGV yesterday knowing a win would keep the title race in their own hands.

It only took 11 minutes to break the deadlock with a Maya Gildroy through ball which was smartly left by Ellie Evans (sponsored by Manius IT Systems) allowing the ball to fall into the path of Gracie McLoughlin (sponsored by Whitby Coastal Cruises) who kept her cool and finished into the bottom corner.

It wasn’t long until Guisborough had their second after Lyla Paisley (sponsored by TNT Fitness) crossed the ball into the box which fell to McLoughlin to smash home with her left foot.

McLoughlin had her hattrick in 35 minutes after a Rebecca Andrew (sponsored by Glow & Grow) through ball left her one on one with the keeper and she slotted it into the bottom right corner.

At the start of the second half, Linthorpe got into the game more but as ever Guisborough’s back line kept them at bay.

It took until the 61st minute for a ball forward from Macey Lyons and good pressure from McLoughlin to win it off the Linthorpe defender before getting her fourth of the day.

Just before full time, Scarlett Hames (sponsored by Croft Rigging & Lifting Ltd) struck the cross bar which fell kindly to Faith Brown who fired the rebound into the net.
