Craig Hignett’s KGV comeback

Craig Hignett’s KGV Q&A comeback before home match v Seaham on 4 January 2020!

Former Boro star and highly popular football raconteur Craig Hignett will be making a welcome comeback at the KGV Stadium on Saturday, 4 January 2020 to deliver another of his trademark entertaining Q&A sessions – prior to the home league match against Seaham Red Star.

The eagerly-anticipated event will take place in the KGV Priory Suite from around 1.00pm with ‘Higgy’ as he is affectionately nicknamed by Teesside football fans due on stage around 1.30pm. What a great way for football fans to banish the post-Christmas blues?

Higgy is always good value with his candid and often humorous anecdotes and the best part about it is that entry to see his presentation in the Priory Suite is absolutely free – once supporters have paid the normal admission to get in to see the match against Seaham.

The match itself against Seaham will kick off at the usual time of 3pm but the club bar will be open early for pre-match refreshments prior to Hignett’s appearance in the Priory Suite.

The Higgy session was originally going to be held prior to the scheduled league match against Consett earlier in the month but had to be postponed because Consett were involved in an FA Vase replay at home to Wythenshaw.

Guisborough Chairman Don Cowan commented: “Higgy is an absolutely first class entertainer as well as a much-loved former Boro legend, and he proved to be a really big hit with our fans when we had him here last season.

“We are very hopeful that the opportunity to see and engage in another Q&A session with Higgy will encourage a healthy attendance for the home game against Seaham Red Star early in January.

“So what better way to shake off the post-Christmas blues? For anyone planning to do a dry January please delay the start until after the match and Higgy’s appearance on 4 January!!

“We are aiming to get over 100 in the Priory Suite for Higgy’s appearance and we are confident it will be as successful as his last session with us – which went down very well indeed and which is still talked about,” added Don.
