Match Report
Another Important Three Points for the Ladies
Guisborough Town Ladies welcomed Boro Rangers Women to the Kevin Edward KGV yesterday.
The game started with Guisborough having most of the possession but struggling to break Boro Rangers down. After a few half chances, the dead lock was broken by Lyla Paisley (sponsored by TNT Fitness) who got on the end of a Gracie McLoughlin (sponsored by Whitby Coastal Cruises) through ball to finish neatly with her left foot.
Boro Rangers had a good chance of their own after a bit of a mix up at the back but Maddie McCormick made a double save to maintain Guisborough’s lead.
It was then 2-0 when Paisley got in down the left hand side and cut back to lay it off for Rebecca Andrew (sponsored by Glow & Grow) to finish first time into the bottom right corner from the edge of the box.
Half Time: Guisborough Tow Ladies 2-0 Boro Rangers Women
In the second half, Guisborough were against the wind and did not start well. The visitors capitalised straight away and got a goal back on a counter attack.
Luckily, Guisborough didn’t let this phase them and continued to make some good chances. The two goal lead was restored when Paige Davis (sponsored by Laura’s Sparkle and Shine) found herself on the edge of the 18-yard box able to have a strike on goal with a half volley that dipped into the net with a little help from the wind.
Not long after, Andrew delivered a corner that landed at Scarlett Hames‘ feet (sponsored by Croft Rigging & Lifting Ltd) who touched it back to Rachel Dimmick (sponsored by Fugly Bakes) to rifle into the bottom corner.
