Reserves Under New Management

The Club are delighted to appoint Dean Naylor as the new manager of our Men’s Reserves team with last Saturdays defeat to Kader, his first in charge.

Deano is joined by Ross Day with Andy Walker staying on as part of the management team.

Club Director and outgoing Manager Chris Wood welcomed the new management.

I’m really pleased that Dean has agreed to take on the role of Reserves Manager. I’ve known Dean the best part of a decade and his passion for grassroots football is clear, both as a current coach of one of our junior side, and his experience in the adult game previously.

The Reserves are incredibly important to the Club, aiding the pathway from junior football through to Open Age and our first team. It’s also great to see more established players be able to play for our Club in that environment and we’re excited to see how Dean, Ross and Andy will progress the team moving forward.

Dean, who supported the side as a coach last season, spoke on returning in his new role.

We are very excited to get started and create a disciplined environment that will both support youth progression and help the reserves to be a successful team in their own right. Hopefully we can continue to furnish the first team with young talent and complete the male player pathway at GTFC.

The reserves next game is a home tie on Saturday against Darlington RA Reserves at Laurence Jackson Sports Village at 2pm.

All at the club look forward to working with the new management and wish them all the best.
