Local MP Luke Myer kindly arranged for Chris to travel to London to attend a special St George’s Day reception at No 10 to recognise outstanding achievement in the field of local community involvement – which squares perfectly with Guisborough Town FC’s activities in the Teesside area.

Said Chris: ” It was an absolute pleasure and a privilege to represent Guisborough Town at the event. At the reception itself, we heard from Olympians Laura and Jason Kenny and the Prime Minister himself.  Luke introduced me to the PM and I told him about my work with Guisborough Town and our local community.

“Sir Keir enthusiastically acknowledged the importance of this kind of work that goes on all over the country,” said Chris.  He added: “I’d like to take this opportunity to warmly thank Luke for helping to make this visit happen.  It was an amazing experience

Meanwhile, although the Northern League football programme is now officially over apart from the Division One Play-off Final between Shildon and West Auckland Town on Saturday, there is still plenty of upcoming activities at the Kevin Edward KGV Stadium to look forward to.

Following these events, the Club’s annual Presentation Night will held in the KGV Clubhouse on Friday, 8 May from 7pm onwards.  Of course, this will be no ordinary evening, with everyone associated with the Club still basking in the glory of winning the Northern League Division One title and the Cup that goes with it, which will be on show on the night.
