Ladies Manager Stuart Underwood resigns with immediate effect

Ladies Manager Stuart Underwood has resigned from his position with immediate effect. His decision comes following the sides 3-1 defeat to Evolution Ladies yesterday afternoon.

Stuart took over the side in 2021 when the team was playing in the North East Regional Women’s Football League North, finishing the season in 10th place. Unfortunately, the following season ending in relegation to the North Riding Football League Women’s Premier Division.

The 2023/24 season saw the Ladies finish as runners-up behind York City U23’s before going one better last season and claiming the League title, losing just one League game all season and eventually finishing nine points ahead of second placed Redcar Athletic Ladies.

Guisborough Chairman Andrew Bell commented: “We would like to that Stu for everything that he has done for the Ladies and the Club over the last four years. He leaves with the best wishes from us all”.

An interim manager will be in place for the Ladies game against Wigginton Grasshoppers at the Kevin Edward KGV on Sunday whilst we search for a new manager.
